KINGCOAT is a water-dispersed top coat which cures into a hard, high gloss film and offers excellent corrosion protection for a range of surfaces and applications.

The main feature of KINGCOAT is that, although the coating is essentially a single pack, it behaves as a functional two pack paint, since the film cross-links itself via the diffusion of atmospheric oxygen into the paint film as it dries. This produces a very hard high performance film but without the inconvenience of having to add a separate catalyst.

KINGCOAT is water-based, easy and safe to use, and there are no hidden costs since no expensive, dangerous, explosive, or toxic solvents or thinners are required for clean-up - only water.

The list of uses for the KINGCOAT high gloss enamels is virtually endless, from these resprayed 200 litre drums, to garden gates, wheelbarrows, and so on.

METALFIX / 1000. KINGCOAT and EASYTREAD

I just thought that I would drop you a few lines on your METALFIX and KINGCOAT products.

As you are aware I had trialed 4 different rust converters, in various rust and salt water environs over some months, that was in 1992. It was then that I decided to use METALFIX to coat the entire hull of my 14 metre yacht built of steel in Broome.

We coated the hull in strict accordance with your instructions, both inside and out.

This involved electric wire brushing all loose surface rust, then applying 2 generous coats of METALFIX by brush. We have since found that a medium priced Wagner airless spray works a treat better.

I must say I had some apprehension on using this system but I have well and truly lost all that. I coated the METALFIX with four coats of primer (2 pack) and 2 coats of KINGCOAT top coat. The application of the 2 pack was very amateurish, however it still lasted some 9 years over METALFIX. The astonishing thing was as the two pack was pressure blown off with water, that damn METALFIX (in the main) was as good as new. You have my photos to look at and wonder. We just patched some of the worst of it with new METALFIX and coated it again, now a year later no problems yet.

Now this damn KINGCOAT of yours has been abused in all states of application and use, by me and its probably the most versatile paint I've used. You won't like this, but for quick fixes I have used it on the topside's over bare metal so many times that our last complete topside sand down was not primed at all just 4 coats of KINGCOAT over bare metal, and other sanded paints. It's still perfect after 12 months totally in the briney.

I use it now below the water line, in patches on modifications, and no problems to date. Mostly as a quick fix till later, but it gives no sign of breaking up. I've been very happy with your paints and could go on and on with the abuse that has been bestowed on your paints, but you should show some interest in this letter, knowing of the performance of these products after 10 years of trialing, and use.

P.S. Your EASYTREAD decktread after this time is also great and very forgiving for patch ups. Also 3M's plastic scourer on a 7" sander is the best way to mechanically remove METALFIX paints, and KINGCOAT sands normally after some 2 - 3 weeks in hot climes.

Recoating Times:	Approx 4 - 8 hours (Normal conditions, Temperatures above 25°C, Sunlight, Low Humidity). If possible, leave overnight between coats.
Coverage:	2 coats of the KINGCOAT are recommended.
	Subsequent coats usually spread further, but coverage rates are typically in range 8 to 10 Square Metres per litre.
